Brad Gillis 62' StratocasterApparently Hot-Rodded Red Strats were THE true guitar of the 80's |
What does CreepingNet, Paul Dean, Brad Gillis, Eddie Van-Halen, and George Lynch all have in common.....red Superstrats. Honestly, I think Red/Black/Chrome is the most popular color scheme of the 1980's when it comes to guitars, because almost everyone has that color scheme somewhere in their rig (though I'm technically a 2000's guitarist, and not famous for anything at all, lol).
Another guitar that lead to influence my crazy guitar tinkering and modding was Brad Gillis' Fender 62' Stratocaster, the one that is running around with the 2nd Floyd Rose ever made on it (non-fine tuner of course). Actually, this guitar by that feature alone shares lineage with the Charvel "Bumblebee" guitar. |
