CREEPINGNET'S WORLD
LOCK'N'CHASE (M-NETWORK)
Clones, something that has become the norm in the video game industry since day one, whether you're talking the myriad of Pong clones from the early-mid 1970's, to the variations of Space Invaders, or something like this - a Pac-Man clone. And like most clones, it has to set itself apart in some way.

M-Network was actually Mattel's (yes the toy company) Atari 2600 division. Mattel had their own product, the Intellivision, and their own dev team, the Blue Sky Rangers, and I recall there was a site on this back in the 90's at least (heck may still be around) talking about how they thought the Atari was Trash and even one or two sites cited a deliberation to make bad games - well, if that's what they setout to do, they FAILED. Actually, the M-Network titles were actually pretty darned good. Lock N' Chase takes the Pac-Man concept and puts an interesting twist on it, instead of a yellow circle that eats dots (or video wafters) and gets chased by ghosts, you're a bank robber being pursued by the police, and you can block them by locking "doors" behind you - ie Lock 'n' Chase.

The result is actually a pretty good, intriguing offshoot of the Pac-Man design. That said, it's not a popular 3rd party release, but it's a good one that I don't think gets enough coverage.

This Feels Oddly Mature - My Experiences
We had this when I was a wee one. It was also one of the carts I had with my first Atari 2600, which I lost all the stuff for in 1991 as my mom threw it all out when I got a Nintendo. I got it back again in recent years. Honestly, I always thought an underground band called "The Young Invaders" and their song "I Play It Cool" would have been a great soundtrack to this game, because the song does mention a bank (the bank across the street from here, has a clock that glows green in the night....). Always pictured this was what was going on INSIDE that bank, lol.
