CREEPINGNET'S WORLD
Rush'n Attak (aka. Green Beret)
1987 Konami, NES/Famicom
Rush'N Attack is a Konami Famicom/NES title released in 1987, originally released as "Green Beret" in 1986 in arcades, with some pretty drastic changes between all the different ports made including Arcade, Famicom, NES, Commodore 64, and many others (go watch the PatmanQC video on it).

In Rush'N' Attack, you play a "Green Beret" (U.S. Marine) set out on what I assume is a Russian military base to find "the ultimate weapon" (nukes) and disarm it before WWIII happens - at least, that's the plot I gather from this rarely talked about NES classic.

It seems there has been some interest in getting this game going again after many years as it's had some spinoffs and sequels that did not get much fanfare.
Sushi & Killer Chip-Toonz - My Experiences
So it's Christmas Day 2022, and me and my wife are making sushi in the kitchen, and I decided to build this infernal nightmare of a section of my website. Seriously, do you guys realize how much effort has gone into putting 315 unique NES games on ONE page!?!?

The entire page was made with me sitting down at my Dell E6440 with the SUP 400-in-1 and literally PLAYING a few minutes of each game, then taking screenshots of the action in PNG format in Linux Mint, and then cropping them, and uploading them to Neocities. And I remember one game I REALLY got into was this one - Rush'N Attack.

I think some of the draw were the events of the last few years with Donald Trump and portential colluding with the Russians - not that I'm russia-phobic or anything, but I really hated that administration. I know, it's politics, and a little tasteless, but honestly you can guess which side I'm on if I'm playing this game ;).

Anyhoo...the first thing I noticed is the KICK-ASS music! Seriously, this is some of the best music I've heard in a Nintendo game. Whoever wrote this stuff comes from the CreepingNet school of thought in melody, and composition - because it's got a lot of that 80's whole-tone, heroic, heavy goodness to it. I've heard some nice metal covers on youtube, but I might do my own as well. It's quite inspiring. I think another draw was Bithead1000 might have played this at some point.

The other thing is this game, for being a rather "generic-like" military run and gun game from the 1980's - because that was a big genre in the 1980's - all the Rambos and the like running around - it's actually pretty good, even if the jump control is a little annoying and unconventional.
