I EXODUS WALKTHROUGH |
Ultima III: Exodus was originally released for computer nerds in 1983 for the Apple II via Origin Systems - and later PC. It was the first Ultima to drop all the low-key plagurism of the first two games, and create a actual, single cohesive universe 100% Richard Garriots. It gained much appreciation in those circles, and also just happend to come out around the same time a couple Japanese dudes: Yuji Horii and Koichi Nakamura - came to the United states for an Apple festival as a prize for their games Love Match Tennis and Door Door respectively, and probably saw this running, influencing DRAGON QUEST (Dragon Warrior).
It seems this game and Wizardry had a real influence on Japan's creation of the JRPG (Japanese-style Role Playing Game), so much so, FCI and PonyCanyon in 1987 decided "hey, wouldn't it be great if we take this CRPG (Computer Role Playing Game) from the west, and JRPG-ify it, and make an Animie series around it even (that was consumed during a earthquake in 1989 - talk about lost media). Seriously, I would have LOVED to have seen an Ultima Anime series! In the story of Ultima III: Exodus, the "love Child" of Minax and Mondain from Ultima I and II respectively, has been spawning evil entities from the Isle of Fire. However, it is not a man, it's a machine, a computer to be exact, a 1970's Mainframe that uses Tarot cards for punch cards! Now before I give up too much more of the story, let's get on with this walkthrough.STARTING OUT - IT'S PARTY TIME WITH THE SOSARIAN GODS THE ZEN AND ART OF GRINDING PART IV: IT'S LIKE I80 ALL ACROSS AMERICA GETTING ALL MARKED UP PART I: FIRE AND KNIVES AMBROSIA - THE PLACE, NOT THE NASTY SALAD ZEN AND ART OF GRINDING PART V: BACK AND FOURTH WE GO GETTING MARKED UP PART II: OF SNAKES AND KINGS STAYIN' ALIVE AT LEVEL 25 TIME TO SHUT DOWN THE SERVERS FOR SOME UNPLANNED DOWNTIME!
