CREEPINGNET'S WORLD
FITUP
FitUp was a unlicenced Tetris clone (one of the millions out there) made by Eclipse Software in 1998. It is basically a free to download, free to play game, and came in 2 versions, with version 0.90 being the one I use the most, whic his the one released in 1998.

What made FitUp stand apart happened to be 2 things in particular, the weird music that sounds like a cross between "Coffee House Noir", something a Mime would be doing it's thing to, and lost music from an episode of Where's Waldo/Where's Wally - so super-duper 1990's soundtrack. The other part was this odd thing where the screen could be set to bounce when you cleared a line, like the playfield was a stuck elevator, or the rotating basket from a dryer, and someone dropped something very heavy very fast and hard every time you clear a line. It also included some "bombs" that would blow up bricks as well. Minor at best of a difference from a regular Tetris release, but overall, enough to make it a fun "time waster"

From what I can tell, only two versions of FitUp were ever released, a v0.89, and a v0.90, with 0.90 being preferred as they added a mouse to the GUI and the Windows Sound System music works with that version (theh previous lacks WSS Support).
My Experiences
I found this looking for WSS comopatible games for my NEC Versa M/75. It's grown to be a new favorite Tetris clone in a sea of Tetris and Tetris clones. It's so 90's though that it should have voice Acting from A.J. Hammer (remember, the V.J. from VH-1), and a cameo by Jennifer Anniston somewhere. Seriously, I could see some balding seattlelite with his new dot-com in the works at a Starbucks in 1996 playing this on his Toshiba Sattelite to Counting Crows and that Melloncamp song with the bass player chick whose name I cannot spell over a Choca-Latto-Whatto-Mocha-whatever drink that had a instructions list longer than a CVS recipt.
