CREEPINGNET'S WORLD
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S
WORLD REVIEW
aka. FNAF FROM THE ADULT PERSPECTIVE - PART RPG: FREDDY WARRIOR/FREDDY QUEST
I love a lot of FNaF, but I also love Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest - so imagine my enthusiasm as an aging gamer when I heard there was now a RPG was coming out based on these characters.

FNaF World was released for free via Steam and via other channels in late 2015/early 2016. It actually had multiple versions, including a few early releases with the 8-bit overworld graphics (done Atari style, which I loved). The game captured my attention because it was a nice FNaF game I could play to relax. Despite being an RPG, it was not all that taxing or bothersome. It was a nice, simple, and well made RPG. So I never understood why the fanbase was so pissy about it. Sure, it brought in younger audiences, don't care, it had the DQ style mechanics somewhat so it was fun for me.

FNaF World is still ap ermanant resident in my collection and still gets opened up every once in awhile when I'm in the mood to play a game.
THE HISTORY OF FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S PART RPG: IN DEFENSE OF FNAF WORLD
FNaF World was released in late 2015/early 2016 right on the heels of Sister Location - the next major release. It was basically intended as a "all ages" RPG release that put the FNaF Characters into a cuter light. It worked kind of like a cross between Pokemon and Dragon Quest really.

However, the fanbase first complained that Scott chose to use 8-bit graphics for the gameplay. Eventually these were replaced with modern overworld visuals, and the 8-bit stuff was relegated to other "dimensions" within the game that you had to travel to to find the bazillions of easter eggs within the game.

Some complained about it's cuteness as well. Look, Dragon Quest is cute, and nobody's giving it crap. I guess maybe if we'd let Rule 34 Chica through the door all the mentally 15 eternal edgelords would have enjoyed it and called it "mature enough', but honestly, sometimes, you just got to let your inner kid out, and that's what this game was. It was a bit like crossing FNaF's horror style with a cutesy JRPG style RPG like Dragon Warrior. Sure, there's no Puff Puffs from Lolbit, but hey, this was meant to expand the franchise beyond...and we're from the USA, LolBit would more likely have a bath that cures Rheumatism.

It got some upgrades, and expansions over the years but overall, it became somewhat of the red-headed stepchild of the FNaF Games, the one everyone likes to shit on, and that always kinda' bothered me somewhat. It was not a bad game, it was just misunderstood, but I guess that was the same deal with Dragon Warrior as well.
