So you might wonder why I have a special "offset" section in tech and setup, and why am I orienting it toward hard rock/heavy metal. Well, hear me out here a bit....
See, back in the 2000's and early 2010s, I was an avid "black sheep" contributor on Jag-Stang.com, Offset Guitars, and Shortscale.Org. A black sheep because I was a hard rock/heavy metal oriented guitar player playing what people at the time, considered to be NOT metal guitars, while hanging out on a forum full of Indie, Alternative, Punk, and Post-Punk type players. As you can imagine, I was constantly getting into stupid tiffies with Hipsters over my preferred instruments, often for some of the dumbest reasons. Hence why this is a "No Hipster Zone" - because fuck the Hipsters. They never could bring these awesome axes to show their TRUE potential musically, ever. Sorry, just not into jangling songs about the checkout lady at the bookstore who'll probably only ever give you wrong numbers! For a long time I've wanted to do a section like this where I discuss the seldom talked about Metal/Hard Rock Approach to offsets that I took and show some of that technical data, and maybe even update it, because at this point, I've been putting *Stangs, Jaguars and *masters through the wringer on the musical equivalent of the Nubergring. I now have 20 years on this and a good understanding of the physics behind this stuff. So here we go. And yes, I'm a bit salty about this one. This is the section that's a big reason I quit guitar forums years ago. Too much bullshit politics.
