CREEPINGNET'S WORLD
BASIC MODERN COMPUTING STUFF
Basically, Basic Info to use Any PC for Any Non-Technical User
This section is sort of the "Captain Obvious" for us Tech People. I've decided to start streamlining this section of the site since I don't like to write in it too much. These are the writings of a seasoned Tech professional, and these are intended to teach people about the most basic of stuff on the most basic of Corporate computer systems (ie. Apple MacOS and Microsoft Windows). I have personally abandoned such technologies except on a fairly limited basis supporting my friends and family as I've got a knack for it.

So if this section seems a little "basic bitch", that's why. Because it's basically, basic. In here I explain various things about computers and operating systems I feel people should know. So if you technoweenies out there start sending me nastygrams because you feel I'm explaining the obvious, I am well aware that I am explaining the obvious. I think computer literacy has been falling by the wayside since the advent of Smartphones and Tablets, and it's gotten worse as I have watched people enter the workforce or return to their computers and seem somewhat confused about what seems BASIC to me. Sometimes though, when explaining technical things to non-technical people, the details of a technicality best explained by an over-simplification is better off being left over-simplified in favor of getting the point. It's kind of like explaining the Castle Doctrine to someone who doesn't even own a gun.

Outside of this section, I will be focusing only on Linux, particularly Linux Mint and Ubuntu Server, as long as I use those Distributions (as well as just Linux as a whole). That does not mean, however, that I will be dropping PROFESSIONAL support for ALL operating systems and platforms, including the uncommon ones. It just means that I'd rather focus this website on PERSONAL USE rather than ENTERPRISE or CORPORATION use. I may use some examples and maybe do a page on the how's and why's of your corporate I.T. organizations in a general format (so users better understand them), but otherwise, this section is largely, a personal section.
