Jackal was an arcade game created by Konami released in Arcades in 1986 under the title Top Gunner. It was released in 1988 for the NES in the USA and Famicom Disk System in Japan.
In Jackal, the player assumes the role of a Soldier driving a Jeep around prisoner of war (POW) camps rescuing fellow soldiers and killing enemy combatants with guns and bombs thrown from the Jeep. If the Jeep is blown up, the soldier can also traverse land on foot and get his team mates back together to rejoin in another Jeep.
