Galaxian is a top down shooter released in 1979 by Williams Entertainment to the Arcades. It has been ported numerous times to numerous platforms by numerous publishers ever since which includes Atari, Namco, and to consoles such as the Atari 2600 and computers like the IBM PC and Commodore 64.
Galaxian is similar to Galaga in that you fly a static space ship at the bottom of the screen shooting at bug-like enemies above you. Apparently, the game design is an expansion on the 1978 Arcade Hit "Space Invaders", except now the enemies can move in a far less predicatable pattern. However, unlike Galaga, and like Space Invaders, you can only shoot one shot at a time. Galaxian has been somewhat overshadowed by it's faster paced, younger sibling Galaga, and by the O.G. inspiration which was Space Invaders.Catchy Tagline - My Experiences Videos Other Stuff |
