The Nintendo Famicom differs from the NES by way of having 2 hard-wired controllers, working on whatever Japan's TV standard is (requiring Channel 96...I think...on a American Television to work), having a microphone on the second controller, having the availability of a Floppy Disk Drive attachment, capabitilies to use various expansion chips used by Konami and others in their software without modifying the console (such as the VRC6 chip used in Ajumajoy Densetsu - aka Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (Japanese Version)), a Computer attachment....and lots of differing ports and exclusive floppy and cartridge games we did not get in the United States or other places abroad. It also makes for an interesting collect because the cartridges are smaller, come in all sorts of interesting colors, and different designs based on the maker, and also have some pretty cool Anime artwork on them.
